If you have stumbled across this little blog of mine, welcome! Even though we’ve likely never met in real life, you’ll know at least two things about me by now. First, that my name is Alexa. And second, I really, really, really love books. I started Alexa Loves Books in 2011 as a personal record of what I’d read and how it made me feel. While I still talk about books in majority of the posts in this space, the blog has also naturally evolved to become a place where I can talk about all of the things I’m interested in and where I can share what I’ve been up to lately. I sincerely hope you stick around a while, and that you like what you see and come back for more! If you ever feel like reaching out, you can email me at alexalovesbooks(at)gmail(dot)com or find me on Twitter @alexalovesbooks.

In the past couple of months, my husband Macky has become an integral part of the blog! He's been sharing his own reviews fairly regularly (every Thursday and occasionally on weekends), which has been really great since we don't necessarily read all the same things. I'm so thrilled that he's now on board with this passion project of mine, and I hope you all look forward to seeing his reviews! (He and I also have teamed up to film our weekly YouTube videos for the channel together, which is pretty fun too.)
A quick rundown of our story - Macky and I met in 2005 when he was the director and I was the music stage manager for the newbie show of our university's musical theater organization, Ateneo Blue Repertory. We were friends first, but over the months, developed a relationship that went beyond that and officially got together a little after the show was run. We got married in September 2013, and he was finally able to join me in the good ol' USA in September 2014 and we've been happily living in New York ever since!

Hello Alexa, my name is Rachell Morton. I am 13 years old. Recently I got awarded “best selling author” on Amazon.com. And I would like to share my book with all of you. It is called: “Margay Stuck on the Tree”. Please write a review and rate. I would really appreciate the feedback. It is for ages 4-6 and perfect for teaching young children how to face their fears. This is the first book of my Margay Life Lessons series. Would you please promote my upcoming series on your blog? Stay tuned for the next ones. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd if it is inappropriate for me to post here, I am sorry about that.

Hi Alexa! I've tagged you in the My Life In Books Tag https://alizashandel.wordpress.com/2015/10/29/my-life-in-books-tag/ If you've already done this tag or if you don't feel like it, feel free to skip it. Love your blog, and I especially love the fact your picture features the fourth Harry Potter book, which has always been my favorite.

I am putting together a directory of active book blogs. If you don't want to be included, please let me know and I will take you off. On the other hand, if you would like to add any information about your blog, I'd be glad to add it, such as a button, genres, or review request availability. ReplyDeleteHi! I just stumbled upon your blog, and I absolutely love it!! It's such a cool little corner of the internet, and I will definitely be checking it out more often! My name is actually Alexa too, which is weird because I haven't heard of many other Alexa's. Random question, do people ever mess with you pretending your the Amazon Alexa? Because I get it ALL the time and it's so annoying hahaha! Anyways, I saw that you were recently in England, and that's so cool! I LOVE to travel more than anything! I'm actually going to be moving to a city just outside of London soon (I'm currently in the states), and it was amazing to read about your experience there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you share here, and I hope you have a wonderful, and blessed afternoon!
I collect postcards too and have been doing so since childhood! Have you heard about Postcrossing?? It's a way to exchange postcards with people from around the world?
