March 2020

March has been an odd month. It honestly feels like it's lasted forever, instead of the usual thirty-one days. With the arrival of COVID-19 in full force on US shores, and a mandatory shelter-in-place/work-from-home situation (19 days and counting), it's been very overwhelming. (My regard and respect for anyone who works in healthcare and other essential services is so, so high. I'm so grateful for all that you are doing and continue to do as this pandemic goes on.) We've incorporated further measures for health and sanitation at home, are staying in our apartment as much as possible and have been supporting our local businesses as much as we can.

Before staying at home became our new normal, I did manage to do a couple of fun things with my friends! I attended the launch party for Chain of Gold, a cocktail hour celebrating The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and even had a friend date at Grace Street. Things changed after social distancing/work-from home took effect; I've basically only ventured out to go to the pharmacy and grocery. I've been doing my best to keep my own spirits up, mostly by staying connected with loved ones and indulging in my favorite hobbies - reading, playing video games (Okami has literally taken over my life), bullet journaling (I started a fandom journal and I'm loving it), watching TV and films and hanging out with Macky and Mel. It's a really tough time for all of us, but I'm sending love and prayers and hopeful, good vibes to you wherever you are. We will get through this.

Even though my emotions and my energy were all over the place, I still somehow managed to read 17 books in March! I continued my Bridgerton reread, and It's In His Kiss still remains one of my favorites in the series. I reread Shadow of the Fox in order to binge read the next two books, Soul of the Sword and Night of the Dragon, and this trilogy has cemented itself as one of my all-time favorites. I also really enjoyed The Empire of Dreams (which made me want to reread the Fire and Thorns trilogy) and A Princess in Theory (which was such an adorable rom-com read).

In case you missed anything, here are all the blog posts that went up last month:

If you want to see Macky & I talking about books, here are the videos that went up last month:

If you'd rather listen to Macky & I chat about books and other things we're interested in, you should definitely give FandomBuzzz a shot. We're slowly making our way back to a weekly schedule! But we also unveiled a new special feature called Bookish Breakdowns, and our first one is all about Chain of Gold.
