Ah, April. I kicked off the month with a fun trip with my sister Mel, had a few fun weekends in the sun with the family, did another round of spring cleaning (and shelf rearranging) and saw my mood lift as the weather improved and I resolved a few personal things. While I wouldn’t say that it was all rainbows and good times (because I’ve also been having the worst anxiety attacks, over a week of insomnia and bouts of insecurity), it was still a pretty good month.
April started off with Easter Sunday, where I had a quiet day at home with Rachel & Macky after going to church. But things picked up during the rest of the first week, what with getting to see James Bay at Brooklyn Steel with Rachel (and he’s seriously brilliant, and would 10/10 recommend seeing him live) and my quick sisters’ weekend trip to London with my sister Mel! The rest of the month was a little more relaxed, though there were plenty of dinners and ice cream dates with my favorite folks. And there was also shopping… a lot of shopping.
It’s been a decent reading month in terms of numbers, friends, though not quite as high as it was in the last two months. A large part of that is because I spent a lot of time in transit (I read a lot on planes in particular), but it’s also just because I’ve been in the mood to read lately. Of the 16 books I read in April, here are my particular favorites: Sky in theDeep by Adrienne Young, The Offer by Karina Halle, Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody, 9 Days and 9 Nights by Katie Cotugno, Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian and The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo.
