I'm really excited that Rachel of Hello, Chelly and I have teamed up once more to bring you a brand spanking new collaboration that involves two of my favorite things - New York City and food. We're proud to introduce Table for Two, where the two of us will be highlighting restaurants and dessert spots in New York City. You'll be hearing our personal opinions on the place and the food, as well as where you can go to try it out for yourself! This month, we'll both be talking about Union Fare, with me focusing on the bakery side while Rachel tells you about dinner.
Union Fare has the most unobtrusive entrances. This means that I only really discovered this place earlier this year, despite the fact that I'm frequently in that area. It might look unassuming, but inside, Union Fare is a lovely little spot for dinner and dessert.
I've come to their bakery a couple of times, both early in the morning and after work for a post-stressful day dessert break. It's a small little corner of their entire place, and it offers croissants, cupcakes, coffee and tea options - and it's delightful. Their drinks are pretty spot on as well, but it's the croissants you should come for. Simple fare, with the Fruity Pebbles croissant being my favorite.
Union Fare is located between 17th and 18th St., between 5th Ave. and Broadway. There are a variety of spots within this place, so here's a full schedule below:
- Gastrohall: Monday-Friday, 11am-3pm | Saturday-Sunday, closed
- Bakery: Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm | Saturday-Sunday, closed
- Cafe: Monday-Saturday, 8am-8pm | Sunday, 8am-4pm
- Restaurant: Monday, 5pm-10pm | Tuesday-Saturday, 5pm-10:30pm | Saturday-Sunday, 10:30am-4pm (brunch) | Monday-Saturday, 3:30-7pm (happy hour)
