I'm really excited that Rachel of Hello, Chelly and I have teamed up once more to bring you a brand spanking new collaboration that involves two of my favorite things - New York City and food. We're proud to introduce Table for Two, where the two of us will be highlighting restaurants and dessert spots in New York City. You'll be hearing our personal opinions on the place and the food, as well as where you can go to try it out for yourself! This month, I'll be talking about Milk and Cream Cereal Bar while Rachel tells you about Hometown Hotpot & BBQ.
If you're a fan of ice cream and cereal, well, Milk and Cream Cereal Bar will be a dessert spot that's right up your alley! This fun little spot offers ice cream, milkshakes and cereal bowls - all with their own little twist of toppings to make it extra special. I immediately fell in love with the ambiance of this space - the bright colors for the sign, the natural wood and white lighting, the 'Treat Yo' Self' slogan scrawled across a wooden wall, the mirrors, the simple set-up of the assembly behind the counter and the vintage shows and music that added just a little more to the experience too.
Rachel & I both opted to try different special flavors that Milk and Cream Cereal Bar offers. Rachel went with Froot Berry Bliss, which is a blend of Froot Loops, strawberries and blueberries topped with Fruity Pebbles and gummy bears. I, on the other hand, went for the Banana Cream, which was a blend of granola crips, Teddy Grahams and bananas, topped with bananas, Teddy Grahams and honey drizzle. Both were quite delicious! The serving looks deceptively manageable, but really, for both of us, it was almost like having a full meal. The flavors come through quite well, and the blends are really well-done because they're smooth (or slightly crunchy in my case) but you'll still taste everything that was mixed in. I'm still thinking about my cone days later and would happily go back to have it again, try something new or even make my own concoction!
Milk and Cream Cereal Bar is located on 159 Mott Street. They're open from Sunday-Thursday from 12PM-10PM, and Friday-Saturday from 12PM-11PM. Let us know if you decide to check it out!
