The most exciting addition to this year's Flights of Fantasy Reading Challenge (You can still sign up here!) is our book club. Rachel & I are teaming up every other month to read a book or series from a fantasy author we've never tried before. We're excited to invite you to join us as we read our first trilogy from Robin Hobb. There are no specific read-along dates, but the plan is to read them during March, and then post our thoughts in April!
There are three novels in this series: Assassin's Apprentice, Royal Assassin and Assassin's Quest. The tale centers around Fitz Chivalry, bastard son of a prince, raised by one of the palace stablemen. All treat him as an outcast, save for King Shrewd, who has him trained as an assassin - and Fitz turns out to have magical skills. These stories chronicles his adventures from boyhood to manhood, as an outcast, assassin and member (whether acknowledged or not) of the royal court. I'm a sucker for novels about assassins, so that's the main draw for me!
Will you be joining us in reading these books this month?
Have you read either of these books before?
