14 Days of Fictional Swoon: Detailing a Date (+ Giveaway)

I'm so thrilled to be participating in 14 Days of Fictional Swoon this year! This is an blog hop event co-hosted by the ladies of Fiction Fare + Swoony Boys Podcast, which features fun posts from bloggers + authors, a scavenger hunt and a bunch of giveaways. From February 1-14, visit all the blogs on the tour to see all the fun posts everyone has come up with! For more details, please check out the introduction post.

One of my favorite things about reading, watching, and writing romances is planning dates for the couple in question. Whether it's an all out celebration for a special occasion, or something simple to show you care, I've always thought it interesting to explore the variety of activities and locales where people can go out on a date. I thought it'd be fun to plan some dates for three of my favorite fictional couples, so check out what I came up with!
Honestly, these two are one of my favorite fictional couples! I'm a little obsessed with how much they grow to care for one another, and how they're so respectful of each other's lives and choices, and how their souls are a perfect match. It doesn't hurt that they share a passion for music! If I were going to send these two on a date, it'd be to an orchestra performance. They'd both tremendously enjoy seeing some of the most talented musicians perform amazing musical pieces. They'd probably have coffee (or tea) afterwards, with some cake, in order to discuss what fun they had, and how inspired they feel!

These two are also quite adorable! I loved witnessing their relationship go from French class partners to friends to something more, even with all the misunderstandings they had to go through. It feels, to me, like they'd both enjoy a date out in nature, so I'd send them on a trek to a place with a mountain and a lake. They could hike a little bit, taking one of the easiest trails, just so they can see some incredible views. When they were tuckered out from hiking, they could have a picnic by the lakeside, and stay until the sun sets and the stars come out.

Cress & Thorne / Cress by Marissa Meyer
I just find these two to be such an adorable couple! While it looked like the regard was one-sided on Cress' part initially, it was charming to see these two go from strangers to friends to something more. I wanted to put these two in a more traditional date situation, which is how I came up with the idea of having them attend a carnival together! I feel like Cress would be thrilled to experience something she's only ever read about or seen on her screens, and she'd like the variety of activities (and food). Thorne would delight in showing off and winning things at the booths for Cress!

Which of these dates is your favorite? Which book couple would you send on a date?
What kind of date would you plan for them?
