January has been surprisingly busy, considering I normally hibernate during the winter months. I've gotten to spend some quality time with some of my best friends, whether it's at their places or at our apartment. I've played games, watched television and read a few books. And last weekend, we were cooped up at home because of the blizzard - which meant napping and eating, reading and video games! All in all, it's been pretty low key, but constantly active, and I feel like it's just been a great month.
WHAT I DID
It's been a blur of game nights (a modified Dungeons and Dragons game created by Macky's spectacular mind), having friends over, and watching television (Shadowhunters, The Shannara Chronicles, Agent Carter, and Doctor Who, to name a few). I also made the trip up to Boston for ALA Midwinter, caught a couple of shows (The Color Purple, which is phenomenal, and Jason Robert Brown's monthly showcase at Subculture, which is a guaranteed delight each time), and spent an entire weekend playing video games and napping during the blizzard.
WHAT I READ
Of the 18 books I read, these are my favorites:
Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone* / The Shadow Queen / Madly / The Hero and the Crown / My Lady Jane
*This was a reread.
