I'm rather bereft that my birthday month is finally drawing to a close. I always feel like August is an extra special month (and yes, I'm totally biased) no matter what occurs from start to finish. This year is no different! It's been a fantastic month, and though I'm sad to see it go, I have lots of memories from it to cherish forever.
WHAT I DID
I kicked off the month with a weekend trip to Cape Cod, which is as beautiful in the summer as it is in the spring. I spent my birthday week celebrating with family and friends, and was spoiled by going to karaoke more than once in a month. At home, I dreamed up a set-up for my bedroom and living room with help from my best friend Pat, and reorganized my bookshelves. And have I mentioned how spoiled I've been by the generous and thoughtful birthday gifts I've received? Basically, my month has been 100% awesome.
WHAT I READ
Of the 19 books, 2 graphic novels, 2 audiobooks and 7 novellas I read in August,
my favorites were:
Jet / Six of Crows / Tatiana and Alexander
(rereads) Crown of Midnight / Heir of Fire
(rereads) Sugar Daddy / Blue-Eyed Devil / Smooth-Talking Stranger / Brown-Eyed Girl

WHAT I POSTED
It's been a really good fantasy reading month! I've actually read six fantasy novels - Legacy of Kings, Crown of Midnight (a reread!), Six of Crows, The Pirate Code, Ash & Bramble and Heir of Fire (a reread). I also read one fantasy novella - The Witch of Duva. So, even without counting the novella, I'm on track to hit my target of 30 books! In fact, I think I just might have to raise the bar and increase my reading goal. Ahem. Anyway, as always, please link up to your recaps/updates below!
