Top Ten Tuesday: Summer 2015 TBR

As always, this feature is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Y'all, I failed miserably at my Spring 2015 TBR, reading only 3 books and the series off of my entire list. So, by default, consider the other titles as part of the TBR I mean to tackle this summer! But I love creating seasonal TBR lists, so I decided to go ahead and make one for the summer season. I'm deliberately excluding review books off of this list, in case you were wondering, because I really do want to make a dent in my TBR.

More Happy Than Not (Adam Silvera) - Adam is one of the best people in the book world! When I first heard about his novel, I was immediately intrigued. And when the opportunity came to snap up my very own copy (at the launch party, no less), you can bet I did. I can't wait to read the story that awaits me between those covers.

Written in the Stars (Aisha Saeed) - I love reading novels about cultures that are different from my own, and this is definitely one I've been hearing positive things about. We're also set to be reading this for book club this month, so teeeeechnically, I'm cheating because I know I'm totally going to be reading this and crossing it off my list. Yay!

Summer of Yesterday (Gaby Triana) - Estelle gifted this book to me because we share a mutual love of Disney. I'm determined to read it this summer, particularly when I'm wishing I could pay good ol' Walt Disney World / Disneyland a visit once more. It sounds like a story that could really transport me, and I definitely love those during summer.

North of Beautiful (Justina Chen) - Rachel is the one who recommended this, as it's one of her personal favorites she's ever read. I don't think I've read a novel by Chen yet, but I'm always up for discovering new contemporary authors to love. Plus, Rachel and I have eerily similar tastes so I'm hoping I love this as much as she does!

Uprooted (Naomi Novik) - I was convinced that I must read this novel by the review discussion Kim & Layla had. They mentioned a whole lot of elements that I crave and adore in my fantasy reads; when we saw each other in person at BEA, they gushed even more and supported my decision to purchase it. Here's to hoping I fall in love with it too!

The Royal We (Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan) - Hannah is the one who totally told me to buy this book. (I mean this in the most literal sense.) She raved about it, and really, what's not to love about royalty and romance? It sounds like a great beach read, and one that I would totally be immersed in from start to end.

Tatiana and Alexander (Paullina Simons) - I can already hear Kelly yelling with victory over this TBR choice. After she managed to push The Bronze Horseman on me successfully (I really liked it!), she's now constantly reminding me that I need to read the follow-up. I, on the other hand, sense a lot of emotions and all caps text messages in my future...

Lost Lake (Sarah Addison Allen) - I'm pretty sure Cassie and Hannah will be happy that I'm finally giving this author a shot! It was one of them (or both of them) who convinced me to buy this particular book by her first. Southern setting + love + family? Yes please!

You Had Me At Hello (Mhairi McFarlane) - Hannah is the one who mentioned this author to me, and I know that she's read and enjoyed three of her novels. When I spotted a good deal on this one, I snagged it. I'm looking forward to indulging in a story that sounds sweet and swoony in equal measures, and I hope I love it as much as Hannah did!

Jet / Rome / Nash / Rowdy / Asa (Jay Crownover) - Kelly is a huge fan of this series, and has been reminding me that I need to finish reading it ASAP. I read and loved Rule two months ago, and I certainly want to find out the stories behind the rest of this group, so I definitely want to tackle it this summer - no ifs, ands or buts!

  14. North of Beautiful! Definite summer read, please :) It's one of those books that got me back into reading after I had been too busy for books during my first two years in uni. After I read North of Beautiful, I've not stopped reading anymore.
