This challenge has been our most popular one for years running - book spine poetry! Let's get our imaginations whirring, and the creative juices flowing through our veins. All you need to do is create a poem using only the spines of your books. It's not easy, but I'm sure we'll all rise up to the challenge! (For a few ideas, check out my 2013 poems, and my 2014 poems!)
daughter of the forest, exquisite captive, deception's princess - still star-crossed. |
heir of fire - in darkness, like no other. |
blue-eyed devil - something real, even in paradise. |

ReplyDeleteLots of new people joining the fun just from seeing these posted around, I think.
Those are really cute! I'm not creative, so I just picked stuff I would buy my valentine.
ReplyDeleteHa! I picked Uptown Funk too. I couldn't think of any others that could fit. :D I can't wait to read Queen of Shadows and Truthwitch! They look amazing. :) Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever! I love your valentines. Especially Lucien <3333333
ReplyDeleteThese are very creative!
ReplyDeleteI love that we both put down Uptown Funk as our song! So catchy, right? Thanks for hosting LovaAThon again this year. Now, I'm off to do some commenting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for host this Loveathon! Well, about LoveathonRAK I send a friendly letter to a fellow blogger. I felt good about it!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love these Alexa! All song lyrics, yes?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately this is my first time hearing about Love-a-Thon! It's so awesome to find a list of book bloggers. I'm always up for discovering new ones! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Love-A-Thon has been a lot of fun so far! I haven't had time to check out everyone's blogs, because there are too many amazing ones. But I'm doing the best I can to comment on new-to-me blogs and blogs with fewer commenters! That's my LoveAThonRAK, I guess. This questionnaire was great by the way, the questions really help see more of the bloggers and get tons of recommendations (gotta go add these books there to my list).
ReplyDeleteThanks again for hosting this event, Alexa!
Same for me! I didn’t have my bookish friends in my life, so I started blogging. :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the books on your list. Or at least, I think I’d love them. Lol. I have them on my list as well.
Oh. You can scrapbook? I’ve always wanted to do that, but somehow I’ve never really been able to make a go of that. So that’s awesome.
Just joined
ReplyDeletejust joined :) a little late to the fun, but excited to join in.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree -- I don't have many bookish friends in real life that can get as flaily or excited or INTO books like we do! I'm so happy I have all of you to talk to! I've found the best friends through blogging and I just LOVE our community!
ReplyDeleteI used to scrapbook and loved it but haven't had any time in recent years! I'd love to get back to it though! Uptown funk! <3 love it!
Thanks so much for hosting this Alexa!!!
I remember when I met you at Books of Wonder and you were with Vi. You were all pretending you didn't blog at all, but you had started one and it was adorable <3 So happy to know you! I'd like to think we would have still met on Twitter! Especially with our Jodi love!! I am soooooo looking forward to TRUTHWITCH and finally reading a Susan Dennard book! OMG, the Hundred Oaks books would make such a great ABC Famil yshow! Ahh, and Daughter of the Forest as a mini-series or something!
ReplyDeleteSOOOO HAPPY TO BE PART OF THIS WONDERFUL EVENT!!! Thank you Alexa and everyone!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing. And I couldn't wait for The Orphan Queen before, but this Valentine to Black Knife only solidifies the fact that I will binge read it the MOMENT my pre-order arrives. And Lucien <3
ReplyDeleteEehh, just joined, late, but there's five of us so we can do it! xD
ReplyDeleteOoooh I wish I had time to do this but I'm too busy right now *sadface* this seems like such a great way to connect with other bloggers and share the love!
ReplyDeleteACOTAR and QoS are definitely my top anticipated releases this year.
I agree that I've met some of my best friends through blogging. People irl just don't get me haha. Looking forward to seeing what else the LoveAThon brings.
So sweeeet!!! <3
ReplyDeleteI love shopping for stationery and crafting goodies as well! :D I love making cards. I'd probably really enjoy scrapbooking as well. Maybe I should take that up!
ReplyDeleteI love watching musicals and plays too. Sadly musicals are so expensive to go see so I can't do it a lot! What's your favourite musical? :D
Ah, this is such an awesome idea! I love this mini poems. Plus you used Heather Demetrios *thumb up*
ReplyDeleteI'm totally in my lurking stage right now! haha
ReplyDeleteWriting is totally a hobby of mine, too. And stationery! I can't have enough of it.
I absolutely love the idea of this #loveathon! Great platform for finding several book blogs at once! Thanks for hosting it! :)
Alexa, these are adorable! I love that you combined song lyrics with books for these!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much again for hosting this!! I'm having so much fun discovering new blogs to read and making new friends on Twitter. I also look forward to more anime posts from you! I had no idea you liked it too!
ReplyDeleteThis challenge was hard! But it was fun seeing all the poems everyone came up with. I really like your too: great poems and pretty spines! *-*
ReplyDeleteAw, I love these spine poetry pictures :D Thank you for making and sharing Alexa. <3 You are all kinds of awesome :)
ReplyDeleteI am sending a card to a blogger via postal mail to encourage her and let her know what an awesome part of the blogging community she is!!
ReplyDeleteI've been chatting with so many amazing bloggers and sent a couple of "love" tweets to my favourites! It's been a joy to spread the love and to receive that love right back!
ReplyDeleteI love travelling too! I wish I could do that for a living, but that is a tough one. I hope yo take a year off, hopefully sooner rather than later to travel the world. I recently discovered uptown funk and had it stuck in my head the whole weekend! Lol! I love the rythm, though! And I also love musicals and theatre! You are so lucky, living in NYC gives you a lot of access to Broadway! That is so cool!
ReplyDeleteSad to have missed it! Hopefully next year! ^_^
ReplyDeleteI loved all the spine poems you made. I love to do this. You never know what you are going to turn out with.
ReplyDeleteAw, missed it. I saw that Cynthia at Afterwritten did it and it looked really fun. Never mind, next time!! -Ashana.
ReplyDeleteI've just signed up - this will be my first year :-).
ReplyDeleteI would love to participate but this year I'll be in China for the month of February and not sure how stable the internet would be for blogging :(
ReplyDeleteEEK I just joined... I am so behind but since I am snowed in I am going to participate. Better late then never right?
ReplyDeleteSo good! *-*
ReplyDeleteHere's my poetry :3 -> http://frannieinthepages.blogspot.it/2015/02/love-thon-challenge-2015-book-spine.html
You might not call your blog the most creative name, but it does it's job and I like the simplicity :D Truthwitch and Queen of shadows - ohhh man, I'm so impatient for QOS. I need more Chaol and Celaena in my life. And more Rowan sass. And more Manon kick-ass. And more awesome characters she's going to create.
ReplyDeleteHaha, Uptown Funk is definitely a great song. :D Thanks for hosting this! I'm just sorry I discovered it so late!
ReplyDeleteYESSS!!! I love the Black Knife one!!
ReplyDeleteYour valentines are so awesome, Alexa! I love them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the book blog links. I needed them badly. Good luck with your blog.
ReplyDeleteThank You
