The Monday Mix basically gives me the opportunity to share with all of you the links I loved online from weeks past. This includes everything from great reviews, articles about writing, inspiring posts and perhaps other things too. I've always valued the opportunity to share the great things I've read or seen, and this is my way to share the love with all the bloggers, authors + pubs out there!
I am seriously feeling you, Spring. And I mean literally, as my allergies have taken flight over the past two weeks. It's been non-stop sneezing and sniffles and itchy eyes in my world, but even with these handicaps, I've been living life (the good life, with grilling and musicals and sunshine) and still going to work. Hopefully, the pollen count dies down soon so that I can get over these allergies and move on with my life!
Apart from that, I just realized that I hit a cool set of milestones related to The Monday Mix. This is my 30th post, which means I've written enough of them to cover a whole month. And it's also been roughly a year and two weeks or so since I first started it! How cool is that? I do so enjoy it, and I hope you guys do too.
My best friend and cousin Bianca arrived nearly two weeks ago, and I've kind of been playing tourist with her as she experiences New York. We've watched a few shows and done some fun things and eaten really good food, and it's been fabulous! I'm going to be sad about her leaving soon.
But, but, but, never fear - it's also BEA week! I'm only going in for two days at the office (thanks to the Monday off!) I'm jumping right into the fray with the Teen Author Carnival on Wednesday, and then BEA will finally be here. Hopefully, I'll see many of you, my friends at various points during the week! Don't forget -- everyone is invited to attend the BEA Book Blogger Picnic & BEA Book Blogger Meet and Drink!

LINKS TO CHECK OUT
- I'm loving Befriended, a new blog series by the fabulous girls of Rather Be Reading (who are the most adorable BFFs ever, and some of the most awesome friends I know). The latest edition features Corey Ann Haydu and her BFF Honora in a most wonderful interview.
- Coming to NYC for BEA or even just to visit? Rachel's got you covered when it comes to transportation, with her helpful tips and breakdown.
- For those of you who are attending cons (like BEA, for instance) anytime soon, Susan Dennard shared some of her tips. They're very practical, and I'm particularly behind the "Back each other up in harassment situations!" tip.
- If you're still looking for more tips, why not try reading the series of posts Shae has written? She has some great insight on BEA and what to do and what to pack and so on.
- Kristilyn shares a little library love! I'm a big fan of the library myself, especially because I'm lucky enough to be a card-carrying member of the awesome NYPL.
- I will say it once again - I wonder why I do not live close enough to Gillian to get to sample all her delicious baked goodies. This time around, she baked cookies in honor of To All the Boys I've Loved Before!
- First kiss stories are always fun to read about! I loved seeing the authors of the First Loves tour sharing their stories on Ginger's blog. (Would you guys want to hear about mine?)
- Lauren has a spot-on post about "decoys" in love triangles. Not sure what that means? Well, I suggest you read her post for further clarification.
- I really enjoyed Corey Ann Haydu's sophomore novel, Life by Committee. Get to know more about Corey and her writing in her interview over at Dahlia Adler's blog!
- Basically, Sam has gotten all the reasons you should read The Raven Boys down in this list. I really love that series, and Maggie's writing, and her post just made me want to drop everything and reread.
- I'm really in love with Ginger's thoughts on why she reads YA. So, so spot on, and so genuine. Why do YOU read YA?
- Cassie's blogger BFF quiz is really fun! I've taken it three times, and scored the highest ranking all three times. BFFs for the win!
- Brittany and I share a love for buying (or at least contemplating buying) foreign editions of our favorite books. She wrote a post about it, and shared some awesome covers.
- Susan Dennard, along with Melody Simpson, is doing YA Runs a 5K! It's amazing way to combine fitness + books + charity and YOU should check it out.
- I am obsessed with this video of the Epic Reads girls learning how to throw knives. Things you learn in YA indeed!

I also have a Facebook page, where I post random links. You can also subscribe to my Youtube channel, my sister's YouTube channel and the Lit Ladies YouTube channel!
I hope you enjoy reading these posts as much as I did! Now it's YOUR turn - are there any posts (on your blog or other blogs) from last week that I missed out on? Please feel free to share links in the comments and I'll try to check them out.
Yay for the 30th edition! I love these posts, as I miss A LOT during the week days, and it definitely helps people like me catch up. I can't wait to go through some of these links. I mean, knife throwing?! That's DEFINITELY one thing I will have to check out. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing my Raven Cycle post, Alexa. Have fun at BEA! I'm so excited for you all. I wish I could jump on a plane and be there. ;)
Thank you, Alexa, for mentioning my blog in your Monday Mix post <3!! I hope you have the best time attending all of the BEA festivities this week. Imagine I am there in spirit! hehe
