Book Blogger Love-a-Thon 2014

Hello, my lovely readers! I'm really and truly excited to be able to post about the 2014 Book Blogger Love-a-Thon today. Rest assured that much happy dancing and squealing has occurred between me and my co-host just plotting this event, and we hope you all will come and join us this year.

Katelyn, one of my dearest blogging friends and my awkward twin, began the Book Blogger Love-a-Thon in 2012 as a way for bloggers to take a special day to share the love around the blogging community. Last year, she invited me to be her co-host for this awesome event. It was one of the most epic experiences ever, honestly. The event became so much bigger than we ever thought it could, and watching all the blogger/reader/author love and encouragement pop up all over the place was certainly heart-warming.

This year, Katelyn and I intend for this event to be BIGGER and BETTER. We're very excited for February to come, and hope you are too! In order to help make this year more fun, more organized and generally just more awesome, we're making a couple of changes. You can check out the rest of this post for more information!

If you find that you're interested and want to sign up for the event, the sign-up form is included below all the facts. You'll be an official #LoveAThon participant, joining me, Katelyn and countless others!

The Who's

Who's hosting the event? Katelyn (Kate's Tales of Books & Bands) & Alexa (Alexa Loves Books)

Who can participate? Anyone is welcome to join in, whether you're a book blogger, author or publisher, as long as you have a blog that you can post on!

The What's

What is the Book Blogger Love-a-Thon? It's an event dedicated to spreading the love for blogs and the bloggers behind them! It's a time dedicated to commenting on blogs, following new blogs, tweeting about blogs, thanking blogging inspirations, sharing the word about blogs you follow, telling bloggers how awesome and inspiring they are, and so on and so forth! The event also includes an interview swap with another participant, mini challenges, Twitter chats and a giveaway. You'll get the full schedule from us once you've officially signed up!

What do you need to do in order to sign up? This is the easy part! All you really need to do is fill out the form below. You can grab the button/banner up there and place it in your blog's sidebar (which we will love and appreciate loads). If you're feeling extra excited, you can also share about the event via Twitter (using the official hashtag #LoveAThon), your blog or other social media sites (which we will love and appreciate loads as well!). The more bloggers who talk about this event, the more participants we'll have and the more fun it'll be for us all!

The When's

When will the event take place? This year, we're doing something different and splitting the event into two days. The 2014 Book Blogger Love-a-Thon will run from February 15-16, from 9AM-9PM EST on each day. 

[Note: This is one of the biggest changes we've made, but it's for the better, I'd say! Instead of being at your computer for 24 hours straight, we'll get a bit of a break in between, which will probably work better for most people.]

When do I have to sign up for the event? You can sign up anytime between now and February 15! However, if you want to be a part of the blogger interview swap, please sign up before February 7. If you end up signing up after the 7th, we'll send you a pre-made interview questionnaire so that it'll be like we interviewed you!

The How's

How can I help? One of the biggest things you can do to help is this: help us spread the word! We were blown away by the sheer number of people who joined us last year, and hope to have the same response (plus some) for this year! 

Another thing you can do to help: contribute to the giveaways! If you want to donate ANYTHING - books, swag, services - towards the mini-challenge giveaways or the big giveaway at the end, please email us at bbloveathon@gmail.com with the details.

Twitter? We will continue using the official hashtag (#LoveAThon) for any tweets about the event. If you do post about the Love-a-Thon, please use the hashtag so that Katelyn and I will catch your tweets!
