YA2U || New York City

I'm sure all of us consistently wish that our favorite authors would stop by for a book tour in our hometowns. With that in mind, I'm extremely excited to be sharing about this amazing opportunity!YA2U is a program that features five award-winning and best-selling authors who are holding a contest to see what city they should visit in an exclusive tour stop!

The authors are collecting votes from January 1 to February 15, and any city in the continental US or any Canadian city that has an international airport can win an exclusive visit from all five authors, including an author panel and book signing! Entering is super easy--and if you help spread the word about the contest, you can also enter win a signed copy of all of their books (TEN signed books in total!)--and the book contest is open internationally!

The biggest reason that I am excited for this particular event is because all five of the authors who have collaborated to do this are AWESOME! I'd love to see Beth, Marie + Victoria again, as well as get the opportunity to meet Megan and Marissa!

The authors in the program are:

And they want to have an event in your home town! To participate, just got to the YA2U website and let them know what city you want them to come to. And while you're there, help spread the word about the contest and you can be entered to win all of their books--TEN signed books in total!

I think that the YA2U Team should come to MY hometown - New York City!

New York City is one of the most amazing cities in the world. It's truly earned its reputation as the city that never sleeps, because there is ALWAYS something going on. No one ever truly runs out of things to do here. To have these five authors come and visit would be an amazing addition to the crazy long list of events that happen here on a regular basis!

One of the things I especially love about NYC is the fact that there's definitely a variety of cultures and personalities. It's basically a huge cultural melting pot, as people from all over the country (and the world) come here to visit, to work or to make a home. Combining various cultural references and encountering them on a regular basis has led to a wonderfully eye-opening experience living here.

Apart from that, it's actually pretty easy for people in surrounding states - like New Jersey, Connecticut, Philadelphia, for starters - to get into the city. There's rail travel, bus travel and, if you're feeling brave, car travel. (Plus, there's the fact that this amazing event will give you the excuse to come into the City for a day or two...)

And I've saved the best for last - there are a few indie bookstores that this event could take place at! I'm going to go out on a limb and list my favorite one: Books of Wonder. This bookstore is amazing, seriously, and one of my favorites to visit (though my wallet might not necessarily agree...).

All in all, I'm asking YOU readers - why not New York? It's an amazing place, filled with sights to see, people to meet, food to eat and, hopefully, this amazing event to attend! Please vote for NYC to be the city that Marie, Marissa, Beth, Victoria & Megan come to visit.

Also, if what I've said isn't enough to convince you, perhaps Frank Sinatra or Jay-Z & Alicia will sway you to choose NYC too!

Why should the YA2U Team come to your hometown?

Why not join in the fun today and share with others about this program and your hometown. The more votes your town gets, the closer you are to having your very own personal tour stop! Vote for YOUR town here!

And if you help spread the word, you can also participate in the book giveaway. Tell them that you learned about YA2U from me and we both get extra entries in the contest!

  1. I went to New York 2 summers ago and it was so great! It was like another world, over there. I loved it and I can't wait to return. I'm hoping to make it to BEA at least, this year!
