13 for 2013

I like making lists, especially when I'm making a list of things that I want to happen in 2013. There's already a lot in store for me, but I still felt it would be appropriate to list my 13 goals for 2013.

1. Read my Bible every single day.
2. Get married.
3. Find a job I'm passionate about and love.
4. Travel to at least one new place, although the more I get to travel, the better it is!
5. Save $2500.
6. Cook or bake five new recipes.
7. Spend less, mostly by borrowing books and having a true clothes budget.
8. Write my novel.
9. Take a photo every single day.
10. Set a "date night" every single week.
11. Blog at least two times a week on here.
12. Find one person to send a package to every single month.
13. Do all these New York things - Top of the Rock, World Trade Center memorial, Staten Island ferry, Brooklyn Bridge, Coney Island, Bronx Zoo, Ellis Island & Statue of Liberty.

  1. Those sound like some great things! I hope you can achieve them... I need to seriously budget as well.

    1. That's probably my hardest resolution, because I'm learning how to handle all my finances on my own! Hopefully though, I get into the groove of things before the year ends.

  2. I love how you put getting married on your list haha. I wish I could do all the New York things too, but I don't think my bank account will allow me to take a trip to NY this year... unfortunately! Hope you can achieve all of your goals, Alexa :)

  6. Huzzah!! GET MARRIED! I know that's so excited, but I'm excited for you to accomplish all these things. Finding a job you love is so important; I've got my fingers crossed for you. And let's both of us try to save $2500, spend less, and write books! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

  8. I broke down last year and bought one of those Bibles that breaks up the scripture into daily readings and I like that. Although some days I just like to randomly pick it up and open it to wherever. And other days I know specifically what I'm looking for. But the first one I mention has that plan that helps people read the entire Bible in one year for those that are interested. While that isn't necessarily my goal, I find that it does hold me accountable with DATES on the pages. There is also an app, which is helpful for busy mornings or days! Good luck with your goal, Alexa!

  10. These are such wonderful goals, and it's clear that you have aims to live a life full of great experiences as well as make time for little things each day.

I adore NYC too, and want to make another trip up sometime this year, but I also want to try traveling to some other big US cities to get a feel for the flavors of other urban areas. I want to find some hidden urban gems.

Good luck with your book and finding a job you love. Those are things I'm working on too! If you post any updates on your successes in these areas, I'll make sure to cheer you on! :)

  11. 1. Love this goal! Seriously. So much! I think I'll make it a goal for myself, as well.
    2. YAYYYY getting hitched! So excited for you!
    3. I hear you on this one - so important to be passionate about what you're doing.
    4. Too bad you've already been to Atlanta because I would have voted that you travel down South to Georgia :)
    5. Yay saving money! It's such a rewarding feeling when you see that number start growing. It's also reassuring to know you've got something there in case of an emergency.
    6. I should do this too! I did, after all, get a bazillion cookbooks for Christmas.
    7. Do this one and you'll totally accomplish #5, too. Yay for borrowing books!
    8. Wooo! I love this one :)
    9. I don't even know where my camera is - I've gotten so used to just taking pics on my phone. It's kind of sad actually!
    10. Making date nights a priority is so awesome! Great to have time set aside to really focus on your relationship.
    11. Yayyy for blogging! I'm totally falling in love with your blog so I'm all about at least two posts a week :)
    12. Fun stuff! Love the focus on giving/gifting!
    13. I need to do more Atlanta things! I've lived here all my life and still haven't done some things or visited places here that I've always meant to. Maybe this will be my year to do more!

    FABULOUS LIST!
