When Chelsea Givens discovered that her ex-boyfriend Drew dumped her to be with her former best friend Lizzie, she'd never felt so betrayed in her life. Then her new friend Shannon tells her she can help set things right. Chelsea's willing to listen, but what Shannon wants her to believe -- that she shared a past life with Drew -- is impossible. And what she wants her to do to get him back … well, it's downright crazy.Could Shannon be telling the truth? And if she is, what lengths will Chelsea go if it means making Lizzie pay?
VENGEANCE is the perfect little novella to tide fans of the Transcend Time series by MICHELLE MADOW over till the final book.
As promised, this book is told from the POV of Chelsea. After being betrayed by Drew and Lizzie previously, Chelsea no longer feels like she has anything or anyone worthwhile in her life. Her heartbreak was understandable - she was in a committed relationship with Drew, and he appeared to care about her.
I felt for her because we really get a chance to see how abandoned and heartbroken she is. She desperately wants everything to be okay with Lizzie and Drew, but she’s still so angry and so sad... and it leads her to do something unexpected.
There’s not a lot of action, but lots of insight into Chelsea’s character. It’s a great set-up for the final book and I’m definitely anticipating it even more than before!
I totally need to get on this series. I mean really, a modern day re-imagining of Pride and Prejudice? YES.
ReplyDeleteSo this is book two, right, even though it is short? I have book one but I haven't read it yet. I need to get on that. But I almost may as well wait until book three is out. Sometimes I like to just breeze thru a shorter series. Hmm. Decisions about this one.
