TGIF at GReads is a feature by the fabulous Ginger, who asks us a fun question to answer every week. It's always a joy to be a part of this, and I think everyone certainly should try it out!
- producing consistent reviews and constantly working on improving my reviewing style,
- interacting with other bloggers via memes and Twitter,
- making connections with publishers and authors,
- promoting my favorite authors and books through the blog
- growing a steady audience of readers and followers and friends
But I believe the thing that I'm most proud of is being a solid commenter.
I think that may just be because I'm a fan of being organized and of showing other people how much I appreciate them, but I love leaving comments. I feel like it's a nice way of letting other people know that I appreciate what they write. I try to keep the comment personal, just to show them that I've read their post and am responding to it. I haven't yet managed to go a whole day without leaving a thoughtful comment on someone's post - and I'm very proud of that.
Great answer. I always love seeing how everyone has different answers on TGIF.
ReplyDeleteYou should be proud of being such a good commenter! A rare breed these days. I am a bit ashamed to admit that I'm becoming more and more lazy because I just want to read more, but if something is really worth it, I always come back and comment later, even if that may take some time...
ReplyDeleteI think that is definitely something to be proud of! I'm the same way with comments - I like getting them and I like leaving them on blogs.
ReplyDeleteYou really are an award-winning commenter! I'm always so impressed with you and it's lovely to see your thoughts on our own writing. xo You are the cutest!
ReplyDeleteHi! Visiting via the Love-A-Thon. Your blog is awesome and I agree, being a good commenter makes a world of difference. Thank you for visiting my blog too. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeletePretty much you are the BEST commenter of my blog for sure! ALways so thoughtful and it makes my day. Doesn't go unnoticed <33
ReplyDeleteYou are a wonderful commenter and that's definitely something to be proud of! I wish I had some of your commenting-powers! :) They always manage to brighten up my day <3
ReplyDeleteI think it is wonderful that you take pride in working on improvement. I am quite insecure about my own writing so every time I review a book I struggle to make it better than the last.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog. New follower.

You are totally THE BEST COMMENTER. Every blog I visit there's always a lovely, sweet comment from Alexa! Thank you so much for that! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, commenting is one thing I thought about, but I still feel I need to do better. Yes, I comment a lot, and I try to be MEANINGFUL (sometimes I don't know what that MEANS) but I still need to do more! Lovely blog -- lots to be proud of!
ReplyDeleteI'll support your pride in commenting. I always enjoy seeing you post one on my blog...and it's how I learned about your blog as well ;)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your answer about being a great commenter (and all the others, of course!), because it's so very true. I think I noticed your blog first through comments, since I'd see you on just about everywhere I went myself! I figured if you an I enjoyed the same posts, we had books in common too. I always appreciate whenever you pop by my blog, and I know I need to work on my own commenting habit (or lack thereof).
ReplyDeleteHopping through on the Love-A-Thon, but you know I love your blog on any day of the week, too!
Loved your mention of being a solid commenter. That is something that I, too, am trying to make sure I do consistently with my blog. Always be positive and pay attention to others blogs because they work hard too! You had such an awesome response!
ReplyDeleteYou are a solid fabulous commenter. You always brighten my day, when I see that you've commented. You are so awesome at really saying something about what I've produced. You never say "great list, stop by...". It is always real and thoughtful. You Rock.
ReplyDeleteRegular commenting is a great thing to be proud of! I am trying to improve upon this as well! Thanks for stopping by!

I think it's admirable that you make an effort to comment on posts that truly get your attention. It means that the comments you leave are probably really thoughtful :)
ReplyDeleteI pretty much love everything you post because you just manage to express yourself so well. You make it easy for me to leave good comments <3
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it does! I like leaving comments because I know the bloggers I leave them for do appreciate the effort :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still working on improving my review writing style, but I think it's getting there. I think, with constant practice and toning, we can both find something we're comfortable with :)
ReplyDeleteYou are SO welcome. I happen to love your blog and I think you post really great content on it!
ReplyDeleteI think adding a personal touch to the comment is a great way to make it meaningful :)
ReplyDeleteExactly! I love acknowledging the effort bloggers make when writing up posts. Leaving a nice comment is always a nice way to say that you know they worked hard on a post :)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to do it! And you make it so easy because I adore reading your posts :)
ReplyDeleteGreat answer, I'm envy now! :D Since I'm such a poor commenter every now and then, depends on my mood :/ But when I do comment, I'm really proud of it :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you were definitely right, blogging takes huge amount of time and energy, so everyone should be proud of their work :) I spend nearly all my time doing something blog related, either reading, or writing reviews, thinking about layout, giveaways.. Seriously, huge amount of time!

You're so right about commenting. THAT is what makes the book blogging community a fun place. THAT is how you get to share your personality with other bloggers. THAT is how you encourage others to keep doing what they love.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Comments make the blogging experience extra special :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! <3 You and Magan make it so easy for me because you guys write such great posts!
ReplyDeleteCommenting is time-consuming, but it certainly is a lot of fun. I may have slowed down a bit, but I'm trying to catch up now! :)
