1. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
I've read so many incredible reviews of this book, and I loved The Mortal Instruments too, so there really is no excuse for my not having read this book yet. I can't wait to pick it up and finally rejoin the amazing world Ms. Clare has created for her readers.
2. The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa
I see this book getting mentioned in rave reviews all the time as well, and though normally I wouldn't pick up a series about Fey, the reviews I've been reading (especially from my favorite book blogger, Kristi of The Story Siren) make me want to dive right in.
3. The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead
I like vampires. This usually translates to me liking vampire books (although I'm not too big a fan of the Twilight series). I've heard nothing but good things about this particular series, so I can't wait to take a bite (and yes, I just had to say that).
4. Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by David Levithan & Rachel Cohn
This is one of those books with an intriguing premise that I always said I was going to pick up and read, but I haven't. Hopefully, I get my hands on a copy soon because I want to find out how the plot actually plays out.
5. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
I reblog quotes from this book on Tumblr all the time. Plus, my cousin says that it's a really good read and I definitely trust her opinion on good books.
6. Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly
I'm so mad that I still haven't picked up this book! Blame it on a lack of cash and too many books on my to be read pile. I do want to get my hands on it though, as all I can see from the book bloggers I follow are great reviews of the story.
7. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The title itself is intriguing enough to warrant me wanting the book in my collection. It's been one of those books I always pick up at the bookstore but then end up not purchasing. I really should change that.
8. Matched series by Ally Condie
This series definitely deserves a read, as I'm starting to find myself especially interested in dystopian novels. It has an intriguing storyline to it, so I can't wait to read it.
9. Song of Ice & Fire series by George R.R. Martin
I haven't watched A Game of Thrones on television yet, but only because I'm determined to read the books before/during my viewing. I'm highly intrigued because many of my friends loved it. And when I bought the book, the cashier was raving about it as well since he was also reading it.
10. Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins
I want to read this book, simply because I adore the cover (and also because of the good reviews).

I have not read any of those but it's ok, I think!
ReplyDeleteI have listed authors in my post!
Here is my Top Ten post!
I must admit I have read most of those, but I haven't read Dash and Lily's Book of Dares and Song of Ice and Fire. Both of these books look intriguing though.
ReplyDeleteGreat list of books! I definitely recommend VA, it is way better than Twilight. And I read Dash&Lily about a month ago and recommend saving it for around the holidays. [:

I whole heartedly recommend reading the Song of Ice and Fire series. It is absolutely amazing. The show does it justice but I would say don't watch it until you read the first book!
ReplyDeleteIronically, here I am, two years later, smack dab in the middle of the first book and LOVING it. I should have listened to you and read it sooner!
DeleteYou have a lot of books I haven't read yet either, excluding Hex Hall and the first in the Iron Fey series. I really want to start the Song of Ice and Fire series but I have to find them first. It's not something I can read on ebook.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by In Libris Veritas! :)
Ooh, read the book before watching Game of Thrones! The book is beyond awesome and it makes watching the series so much better!
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVED The Book Thief! It's on a lot of lists this week, surprisingly.
I also need to get to Revolution, it sounds so good!
I really should have paid attention to your comment Daisy! I just started reading the series, and I'm honestly loving it a lot.
DeleteHex Hall & Revolution are sittng on my shelf waiting for me. I hope you love the Iron Fey as much as I do.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by

I have heard great things about the Song of Ice and Fire series. I really want to read it too. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteSusanne
Hex Hall/Demonglass are very good, light reads. More funny than dark. I was late to the Vampire Academy party, but I fell in love within the first chapter. But Matched...it was a huge letdown. Your first two picks are on my list too! Can't wait to finally read The Iron Fey series. Thanks for stopping by, Alexa!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't tried reading either Hex Hall or Vampire Academy, but I really need to start. A lot of people recommend those two series to me all the time!
DeleteI have not read any of those titles but have heard of a few of them.
ReplyDeletecheck out my list.

New follower here!
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend A Song of Ice and Fire series...however I love the show more and think you should totally go ahead and watch :)
I haven't read many of these books as well. I have The Perks of Being A Wallflower on my kindle and I really need to read it soon, I've heard awesome things about it.
Here's my Top Ten
Thanks for visiting! I am in the process of reading George RR Martin's series and so far I love it
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I'm a new follower. There are some great books on your list, The Infernal Devices, The Vampire Academy and Dash and Lily hopefully you can read them soon! I also really want to read Hex Hall, I keep hearing about it!
ReplyDeleteAmy @ Following The Reader
Ha, I'm not the only one who still needs to read the Vampire Academy series! Hex Hall was a really good read. I kicked myself for letting it sit on my shelf for as long as I did. Hope you get to read all these soon :)
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read VA or Hex Hall up until this point, eep. I should definitely remedy that soon...
DeleteIf I had to recommend ONE book on that list, I'd say read The Book Thief ... just not in public if you're prone to hysterics. haha
ReplyDeleteI read it and loved it! It's really quite a complex, but amazing book.
DeleteI loved The Iron Fey series, loved the first Infernal Devices (and impatiently awaiting the next), loved Matched, and have the first two Hex Hall books on my shelf waiting for me. I absolutely hated the Vampire Academy books though. I wanted to like them, but ugh. I just couldn't.
ReplyDeleteOoh, you're the first person I've seen who didn't really like VA. I will keep that in mind should I ever start it...
DeleteI didn't really enjoy Dash and Lily's Book of Dares; it was kind of boring and slow-moving.
ReplyDeleteReally? I've only heard good things so I assumed it was fairly good :)
DeleteThe only books I've read from your list is the Iron Fey series and Matched. I'm planning to read George R.R.Martin's books but I haven't had the urge to do so yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. ^_^
1, 2 and 8 are all really good :) Really wanna read no. 4 though! Great list :D
ReplyDeleteNow I feel ignorant: I never heard of half of these... Ive read #7 and #9, though, both OK.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with most of those. I really want to read Perks of a Wallflower and Dash and Lily's Book of Dares or whatever it is called one.
ReplyDeleteHmm, will have to get my paws on them sometime.
Matched series - read. Didn't think it was that great...
I really wanna read The Infernal Devices, gotta go buy em haha. Your top 3 are def on my list, along with Matched and Hex Hall. Can't wait to hear what you think of them all.
ReplyDeleteThe Book Thief and The Perks of Being a Wallflower are amazing books! I haven't read many David Leviathian books, either, because I didn't like Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist at all.
ReplyDeleteDash & Lily's Book of Dares is a quick, funny, hipster NYC read. I enjoyed it. I haven't read the third Iron Fey book yet but I really liked the first two. And I'm a Vampire Academy fan as well.
